Martyrs Montanus, a priest, and Maxima, his wife, faced persecution during Diocletian's reign. Ordered to renounce their faith and worship idols, they refused steadfastly. Montanus, undeterred by torture, encouraged Maxima to remain strong. Both were subjected to brutal floggings and further torments, yet their resolve never wavered. Finally, they were drowned at Sirmium, giving up their lives for Christ.
