Saint Philotheia, a child martyr of Romania, faced unimaginable cruelty. Her stepmother, consumed by envy and rage, ordered her to bring food to workers in the field. The stepmother, in a fit of anger, struck young Philotheia with a spindle, mortally wounding her. The relics of Saint Philotheia are now enshrined at the Curtea de Argeș Monastery, drawing pilgrims seeking healing and solace.
