Saints Nicander and Marcian, Roman soldiers and jailers, witnessed the unwavering faith of Saints Marcellinus and Peter in prison. Moved by their piety and miracles, Nicander and Marcian converted to Christianity and were baptized by Marcellinus and Peter. They began to visit other imprisoned Christians, tending to their needs and strengthening their resolve. When their faith was discovered, they were tortured and ultimately beheaded for refusing to renounce Christ.
