In the days of Maximian, Nicander and Marcian, soldiers in the Roman army, witnessed Christians enduring horrific tortures for their faith. Moved by their unwavering devotion and the miracles they performed, Nicander and Marcian converted to Christianity, openly proclaiming their new faith by comforting the imprisoned and burying the martyred. Arrested for their acts of defiance, they refused to renounce Christ, enduring brutal floggings and torments. Unmoved by threats or pain, they were ultimately beheaded for their faith.
