The Virgin Mary, betrothed to Joseph, was visited by the Archangel Gabriel, who announced she would conceive and bear a son, #JesusChrist, to be named Jesus, the Son of the Most High. Despite her virginity, she humbly accepted God's will, saying, "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word." She conceived by the #HolySpirit and later visited her cousin Elizabeth, who recognized Mary as the mother of her Lord. Mary's "Magnificat" proclaims God's greatness and mercy.
