The angel Gabriel appeared to Mary, a virgin betrothed to Joseph, in Nazareth. He announced that she would conceive a son through the Holy Spirit, and he would be named Jesus, the Son of the Most High. Though troubled, Mary humbly accepted God's will, saying, "Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word." Her faith and obedience made her the Mother of God, central to salvation. Let us praise her for interceding on our behalf!
