In the city of Tomis, during the reign of Emperor Trajan, the Roman prefect arrested Saint Evangelicus, the Bishop. The saint fearlessly confessed his faith in Jesus Christ, and the enraged prefect ordered him to be tortured. The Hieromartyr, enduring horrific torments, remained steadfast in his belief. When offered clemency if he renounced Christ, he refused and was ultimately beheaded. His unwavering faith and martyrdom continue to inspire.
