Venerable Gregory, driven by divine zeal, abandoned his family to embrace monastic life. He wandered through desolate lands, facing starvation and wild beasts, to strengthen his spirit. He was imprisoned in Thessalonica for defending icon veneration against heretics. After enduring much suffering, he healed a possessed woman in Constantinople through prayer.
