On this day, we remember #Martyr Oprea of Săliştea. In 1760, under duress from Austrian authorities seeking to convert Orthodox Romanians to Catholicism, Oprea, a simple peasant, stood firm in his Orthodox Christian faith. He refused to renounce his beliefs, despite facing imprisonment and torture. He proclaimed: "I was born Orthodox, and Orthodox I will die!" His unwavering commitment led to his martyrdom.
