In the year 372, #Martyr Sava, a devout Goth, lived in a village under the rule of the Arian Visigoths. When a persecution arose, Sava refused to deny Christ. The Gothic authorities, seeking to appease their king, Atharic, threatened the villagers, claiming anyone hiding Christians would face dire consequences. Sava, unwavering in his faith, openly declared his belief in Christ. Impressed by his courage, the authorities released him, deeming him insignificant. However, during the Paschal season, Sava was seized again, and brutally tortured. Despite the agony, he remained steadfast, singing hymns of praise. He was drowned in the river Buzău, becoming a martyr for his unwavering faith. O Holy Sava, intercede with Christ our God that we may have the strength to confess our faith openly, without fear, and to endure trials with unwavering hope.
