On this day, we remember Martyr Oprea of Săliştea, who, in 1760, stood firm in his Orthodox faith against forced conversion. Offered wealth and status to abandon his beliefs, he refused, declaring his unwavering loyalty to Christ. He was tortured and killed for his faith, becoming a beacon of courage and devotion.
Let us pray that, through his intercessions, we too may find strength to defend our faith in the face of adversity. May his sacrifice inspire us to live lives of unwavering commitment to God.
