Ermil, a deacon, and Stratonic, a prison guard, stood firm in their Christian faith despite persecution. When Ermil was tortured for his beliefs, Stratonic wept openly, revealing his own Christian faith. Both were condemned. Stratonic was drowned in the Danube after a final prayer. Ermil endured more torture before meeting the same fate. Their steadfastness inspires us.
