Venerable George of Cernica, born in 1730, exemplified monastic dedication. Against societal expectations, he embraced the ascetic life at Căldărușani Monastery and later, at Cernica. Ordained a priest, his spiritual guidance drew many. As abbot, he rebuilt Cernica, establishing a rigorous cenobitic rule. His humbleness was profound, and he was deeply devoted to prayer, fasting, and teaching. He reposed in 1806, leaving behind a legacy of spiritual renewal. May his prayers guide us to emulate his unwavering commitment to God.
