During the reign of Emperor Licinius, Ermil, a deacon, and Stratonic, a guard, were imprisoned for their Christian faith. They endured brutal torture but remained steadfast. Eventually, they were tied up and thrown into the River Danube during winter. As they froze and drowned, they sang hymns, their voices a testament to their unwavering devotion. Their bodies were later found downstream, still singing praises to God. Holy Martyrs Ermil and Stratonic, pray for us and intercede before God, that we may find strength in our trials.
