Martyrs Montanus and Maxima, during Emperor Diocletian's reign, faced persecution for their unwavering faith. Offered honors to pagan gods, Montanus, an esteemed presbyter, refused. Maxima, a Christian woman, boldly professed her belief in Christ alongside him. Despite torture and threats, their resolve remained unbroken. Condemned to death, they were drowned at Sirmium around 304 AD. Their courage inspired many, solidifying their place as steadfast witnesses to the truth.
