Philotheia, a young girl, faced a cruel stepmother who resented her charity. One day, as Philotheia carried food to the poor, her stepmother struck her in a fit of rage. Mortally wounded, Philotheia forgave her attacker before passing away. Her relics, enshrined at Curtea de Argeș Monastery, are venerated for miraculous healings and comfort to the suffering.
