Stephen the Great, Prince of Moldavia, faced a massive Ottoman army at Vaslui in 1475. Vastly outnumbered, he prayed fervently with his troops. Through brilliant tactics and unwavering faith, Stephen's small army crushed the invaders, securing Moldavia's freedom and earning him the title "Athlete of Christ" from the Pope. He dedicated his life to defending his land and building churches.
