Iuliu Veteranul, a Romanian soldier during World War II, was captured by the Soviets and pressured to renounce his faith. He steadfastly refused, enduring torture and imprisonment. He was promised freedom and honors if he would convert to atheism and denounce his faith, but he remained firm in his belief. His unwavering devotion led to his martyrdom in a Soviet prison.
