On this day, we remember Martyr Oprea of Săliştea.

In 1768, during a time of great turmoil and religious persecution in Transylvania, Oprea, a simple peasant, stood firm in his Orthodox Christian faith. The authorities, under pressure to enforce conversions to other denominations, demanded he renounce his beliefs. Oprea refused, enduring imprisonment and torture rather than betray Christ. He was promised wealth and honor if he would convert, but he remained steadfast. Eventually, he was martyred for his unwavering devotion.

Let us pray to #MartyrOprea, intercede for us, that we may have the strength to stand firm in our #Faith amidst trials and tribulations, and that his sacrifice inspires us to live lives worthy of our calling in #Christ. May God grant us courage and discernment. #OrthodoxChristian #Saints
