Venerable John Iacob, after serving in a Romanian monastery, yearned for deeper solitude. He journeyed to the Holy Land, seeking refuge in the wilderness. He lived as a hermit near the Jordan River, then in the Lavra of Saint Sabbas. Later, he found his ultimate hermitage in a cave near the Monastery of Saint George Hozevitou, living a life of intense prayer and asceticism. Despite his desire for solitude, he offered spiritual guidance to pilgrims. He reposed in 1960, and his relics were found incorrupt, emitting a heavenly fragrance.

Holy #Saint John Iacob, pray for us! Help us to find strength in solitude and guide us on our path to #holiness. May your example inspire us to seek God in all things. #OrthodoxSaints #Christianity #Prayer
