Martyr Nicander, a Roman military commander, and Marcian, his subordinate, witnessed the unwavering faith of Saint Dasius, who chose martyrdom over idolatry. Inspired by Dasius's courage and the miracles surrounding his death, Nicander and Marcian converted to Christianity. They began openly preaching their newfound faith, leading many others to Christ. Their actions were soon discovered, and they were arrested, tortured, and ultimately beheaded for their beliefs in 302 A.D.
