Martyr Emilian of Durostor, a Roman soldier, was martyred under Emperor Julian the Apostate. During a pagan festival, he saw the idols being venerated and, filled with zeal for God, smashed them. He was arrested, tortured with fire, and eventually burned alive. Though offered leniency if he renounced Christ, he remained steadfast in his faith. He represents courage in the face of persecution and a bold witness to the truth.
