In the Roman fortress of Durostorum, now Silistra, Bulgaria, Saint Lupos, the faithful servant of Saint Demetrios, witnessed his master's martyrdom. Dipping a cloth in Demetrios' blood, Lupos received miraculous power. He shattered idols, healed the sick, and converted many. When arrested and commanded to worship idols, Lupos refused, denouncing their emptiness. In his defiance, he shattered the idols before the Emperor Maximian. Enraged, the emperor ordered his execution. Saint Lupos surrendered his soul to God through beheading, joining his master in eternal glory.
