Sava, a Goth serving as a church singer, lived when the Gothic king persecuted Christians. Ordered to eat pagan sacrificial meat, Sava refused, declaring, "He who offers sacrifice to gods other than the Lord alone shall be utterly destroyed!" Despite threats and the presence of armed men, Sava remained steadfast. The king's men martyred him by drowning in the river Buzău. His unwavering faith inspires us today.
