Born in Romania, John Iacob entered the monastic life in the Holy Land. A humble monk, he lived a life of intense prayer and asceticism in the desert of Judea. He was known for his deep love for God and his fellow man. A key part of his story is that he fell ill and died at a young age. His relics, however, were found to be incorrupt and fragrant, a testament to his holiness. Let us call upon Saint John Iacob, the Romanian, to intercede for us before the Throne of God!
