Venerable Anthony of Iezeru, a hermit and spiritual guide, lived a life of extreme asceticism in the Retezat Mountains. One winter, a severe blizzard trapped him in his cell for weeks. Food ran out. Instead of despairing, he spent his days in prayer and chanting psalms. When the snow finally melted, villagers found him alive, sustained only by divine grace. He emerged with an even greater spiritual radiance.
