Saint Andrew, brother of Peter, was fishing in Galilee when Jesus called him to be an Apostle, making him the first disciple. He preached the Gospel across Asia Minor and Scythia, establishing churches. Tradition says he was crucified in Patras, Greece, on an X-shaped cross.
