Saint John lived in Wallachia in the 15th century, working as a merchant. One day, falsely accused of theft, he refused to renounce his Christian faith even when subjected to torture. He was beheaded by the Tatars. A local Romanian Orthodox priest secretly buried his relics. Years later, the relics were discovered incorrupt and fragrant, revealing John's sanctity. Pilgrims today visit Prislop Monastery to pray for his intercession.

Let us beseech #SaintJohn to intercede for us, that we may be granted strength to bear witness to our #Faith in times of trial. May his prayers guide us toward #Virtue and unwavering devotion to #God. #OrthodoxChristian #Prayer
