On August 15, 1714, Prince Constantin Brâncoveanu, ruler of Wallachia, and his four sons—Constantin, Ștefan, Radu, and Matei—were martyred in Constantinople. Offered the chance to save their lives by converting to Islam, they refused. Constantin, the father, encouraged his sons to remain steadfast in their Christian faith, accepting death rather than deny Christ. Their brutal execution was followed by the display of their heads on poles. The courage and sacrifice of the Brâncovenis became a symbol of faith and resistance against oppression in Romanian history.
Let us pray to the #MartyrsBrâncoveni, that their sacrifice inspires us to remain steadfast in our faith. May their example strengthen our resolve to live according to God's will. #OrthodoxSaints #ChristianMartyrs #RomanianOrthodox #Prayer #Faith
