Oprea, a simple village priest from Săliștea, refused to renounce his Orthodox faith during the forced conversion to Catholicism in Transylvania. He was brought before the Imperial court, where he fearlessly defended Orthodoxy, even in the face of threats and imprisonment. Refusing to compromise, he was ultimately martyred for Christ. His steadfastness inspired many, becoming a symbol of resistance against religious oppression. He is remembered for his courage and unwavering faith.
