In the 3rd century, during Emperor Diocletian's persecution of Christians, Donat and Venust were arrested in Rome for their faith. Despite facing torture, they remained steadfast. Donat, a priest, and Venust, a deacon, endured floggings, imprisonment, and attempts to make them renounce Christ. Their unwavering faith and refusal to offer sacrifices to Roman gods led to their eventual beheading. They are revered as examples of courage and devotion to Christ.
Holy Martyrs Donat and Venust, pray to God for us and intercede on our behalf!
