Ermil, a deacon, and Stratonic, a guard, were martyred for their faith. Ermil was tortured for refusing to renounce Christ, and Stratonic, secretly a Christian, wept openly at Ermil's suffering, revealing his faith. Both were drowned in the Danube River.
