Martyr Nicander, a Roman soldier, was converted by Saint Hippolytus and, along with his fellow soldier Marcian, began to visit Christian prisoners, tending to their needs and burying the martyrs' bodies. Arrested for their faith during Maximian's reign, they refused to renounce Christ, enduring tortures with unwavering resolve. They were eventually beheaded, remaining steadfast in their devotion to God until their last breath.
