The Apostle Andrew, brother of Simon Peter, was fishing in the Sea of Galilee when Jesus called him to follow. He immediately left his nets, becoming the first Apostle. Andrew introduced Peter to Christ and preached the Gospel throughout Scythia, Greece, and along the Black Sea. Tradition holds he was crucified in Patras on an X-shaped cross.
