Confessor Sava Brancovici, Metropolitan of Ardeal, stood firm against the Calvinist Prince Apafi, who sought to impose his doctrines upon the Orthodox Romanians. Sava refused to renounce the true faith, enduring imprisonment and hardship. He defended the flock entrusted to him with unwavering courage. He suffered torture and exile rather than betray Christ.

Let us pray to Sava, that he intercede for us, that we may have the strength to stand firm in our faith amidst trials.
