Venerable Germanus lived in a cave near the Black Sea, now Romania. A Roman soldier, tormented by demons, sought him out. Germanus prayed intensely, and the demons fled, leaving the soldier in peace. Many others came to him for healing and guidance, and he helped them all. He is now considered a patron saint of those suffering from mental illness.

Lord, through the prayers of Venerable Germanus, deliver us from all evil.
