Ermil, a deacon, and Stratonic, a guard, were martyred for their faith. Ermil openly confessed Christ during persecution. Stratonic, secretly a Christian, wept openly at Ermil's torture, revealing his faith. Both were brutally tortured and ultimately drowned in the Danube River for refusing to renounce Christianity.
