Venerable Nicodim of Tismana, a 14th-century monk, established the Tismana Monastery in Romania after receiving a divine vision. Guided by an angel, he discovered a hidden cave ideal for spiritual retreat. Nicodim translated religious texts into Slavonic, fostering literacy and faith. He performed many miracles, healing the sick and protecting the vulnerable.
