Venerable Gregory the Decapolit, a beacon against iconoclasm! Born in the 8th century, he fearlessly defended the veneration of icons during the Byzantine Iconoclastic Controversy. Gregory traveled extensively, preaching and writing to counter the emperor's decree. He was tortured and exiled for his beliefs, yet remained steadfast.
