On July 18th, we honor Martyr Emilian of Durostorum. When a pagan procession passed by, Emilian, full of courage, overturned their idols. Arrested and brought before the authorities, he refused to deny Christ, confessing his act and faith. Despite torture, he remained steadfast. Condemned to be burned, the flames miraculously subsided, not harming him. Seeing this, many pagans believed in Christ. Emilian, however, was ultimately martyred by the sword.

O holy Emilian, pray to God for us and intercede for the salvation of our souls.
