Hieromartyr Irineu, Bishop of Sirmium, fearlessly confessed Christ during Emperor Maximian's persecutions. Brought before the authorities, he refused to offer pagan sacrifices and boldly proclaimed his faith. Despite imprisonment and torture, he remained steadfast. When pressured by his own family to renounce Christ, he rebuked them for valuing earthly ties over eternal salvation. Condemned to death, he was beheaded, becoming a beacon of unwavering faith.
