During Emperor Diocletian's reign, Montanus, a priest, and Maxima, a devout woman, fearlessly confessed their faith. They refused to offer sacrifices to idols. For their unwavering belief, they endured brutal torture. Maxima bravely faced the torment, remaining steadfast alongside Montanus. Ultimately, both were drowned at Singidunum (Belgrade), thus receiving their crowns of martyrdom.

Let us pray for their intercessions, that we may be granted the strength to remain true to Christ in the face of adversity.
