While in Aiud prison, known for its brutal conditions, he secretly translated and wrote theological works, often using scraps of paper and memory to preserve his thoughts. Despite the constant threat of discovery and punishment, his spirit remained unbroken, and he continued to offer spiritual guidance to fellow prisoners, strengthening their faith in the face of adversity.
