Venerable John the New of Prislop Monastery, a beacon of faith in 15th-century Wallachia, faced a brutal end. After a life dedicated to prayer and service at the monastery, he was captured and martyred by Tartars near Cetatea Albă. Refusing to renounce his Christian faith, he was subjected to horrific torture and eventually beheaded. His relics, venerated for centuries, are said to perform miracles, and his unwavering dedication to Christ continues to inspire.
