Joseph, born into a devout family in Ottoman-occupied Banat, felt a calling to monasticism early in life. Despite pressure to marry, he entered Partoş Monastery. Known for his humility and spiritual wisdom, Joseph was later chosen as Metropolitan of Timişoara. During a plague, he fearlessly ministered to the sick and dying. After his death, his relics were found incorrupt, and miraculous healings were attributed to his intercession.
