During the reign of Emperor Maximian, Saint Emilian, a Christian, was brought before the Roman governor for refusing to worship idols. Despite facing torture, he remained steadfast in his faith. He was then ordered to be burned alive. As the fire consumed him, he prayed to God, and his last words were a prayer of thanksgiving. His relics are venerated to this day. Saint Emilian, pray for us and intercede before God for the salvation of our souls!
