Venerable Dimitrie lived as a simple shepherd near the village of Basarabi in Romania. After his death, during a time of plague, his relics were discovered incorrupt near the river. A paralyzed woman was healed after being brought to his relics. When invaders threatened to desecrate them, the relics were moved to Bucharest, where they remain, a source of miracles and blessings.
