Around 1400, Leontie, Bishop of Rădăuți, during a Tatar invasion, rallied his flock. He led them not with a sword, but with the cross. As the Tatars pillaged the town, he gathered the faithful in the church, praying fervently before the altar. Legend says a miraculous fog descended, concealing the church and its people, saving them from the invaders. Leontie’s unwavering faith and leadership preserved his community.
