The Virgin Mary, chosen to bear the Son of God, conceived Jesus through the Holy Spirit. An angel told her of God’s favor. She visited Elizabeth, her cousin, who was pregnant with John the Baptist, and proclaimed the Magnificat, praising God. Mary witnessed Jesus' life, death, and resurrection, remaining steadfast in faith.
