In the early 17th century, Saint Theodosie, a monk and the abbot of the Brazi Monastery, lived a life dedicated to Christ. When the Tartars invaded Wallachia, they captured him and subjected him to torture, demanding he renounce his faith. Despite brutal beatings and threats, Theodosie remained steadfast. He refused to deny Christ, and he was eventually martyred for his unwavering beliefs. His final words were a prayer, his faith a beacon in the face of death.
